Welcome To Dhaka Dental College
Dhaka Dental College is the largest dental educational institution in Bangladesh. It was the first dental college of East Pakistan, established in August,1961 and it is the only government dental college in Bangladesh with a 200 bed-hospital situated at Mirpur 14,Dhaka. In the year of 1961 Dhaka Dental College started with admission of 6 students at Dhaka Medical College (DMC) . In 1963 College shifted to the roof (2nd floor) of DMCH out patient building (Its new and own campus) In Feb, 1965 First batch of students qualified as BDS doctors.In the 1987-88 Financial Year A project taken by People"s Republic of Bangladesh for new Dhaka Dental College buildings at Mirpur.On the 6th April, 1998 The new building at Mirpur was inaugurated by Our Honourable Prime Minister Shiekh Hasina & creat the modern era of Dhaka dental college. In March, 2000 All the Institutional activities started in the new campus at Mirpur.It is recognised as the best dental related educational institution for getting any kind of dental degree in Bangladesh.

Chittagong Medical College is a government medical college in Bangladesh, established in 1957. The college was founded by the formar Prime Minister Hossain Shahid Sohrawardy. Now CMC is a center of excellence for the medical studies in undergraduate and postgraduate level and also in rendering specialized hospital services to the common people.
Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College or SOMC is a government medical college in Bangladesh. It is located in Sylhet District, North-East part of Bangladesh. It was renamed in 1986 from the original "Sylhet Medical College" to the current one after General Muhammad Ataul Gani Osmani, who was the commander-in-chief of Bangladesh Army during Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971. The college provides 5 year MBBS degrees, and admits approximately 200 undergraduate and a good number of postgraduate students every year. The college is affiliated to Shahjalal University of Science and Technology under the School of Medical Sciences.
History
Holy Sylhet Holding Limited (HSHL) established the college in 2005, and established Sylhet Women's Medical College Hospital the following year. Instruction began in 2006, and the hospital opened in 2007.[2] HSHL intends to add a dental college and 4-year nursing college on the campus.[3]

The college is located in Mirboxtola, in central Sylhet, between the major intersections Chowhatta Point and Noya Sarak Point. There are two chief buildings on the 3 acres (1.2 ha) campus: one high-rise containing the college and another containing the associated 625-bed teaching hospital.[4]

Organization and administration
The college is affiliated with Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) under the School of Medical Sciences.[5][6] The college chairman is Md. Saleh Uddin. The principal is Md. Rezaul Karim.[7]
Academics
The college offers a five-year course of study, approved by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC), leading to a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from SUST. After passing the final professional examination, there is a compulsory one-year internship. The internship is a prerequisite for obtaining registration from the BMDC to practice medicine.[5][8] In October 2014, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare capped admission and tuition fees at private medical colleges at 1,990,000 Bangladeshi taka (US$25,750 as of 2014) total for the five-year course.[9]

The college admits only female students.[5] Admission for Bangladeshis to the MBBS programmes at all medical colleges in Bangladesh (government and private) is conducted centrally by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). It administers a written multiple choice question exam simultaneously throughout the country. Candidates are admitted based primarily on their score on this test, although grades at Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) level also play a part.[10] As of July 2014, the college is allowed to admit 90 students annually.[11]
